All About the Details

It blows me away that we have been married a year already. It seems like only weeks have passed since we walked down the aisle hand in hand seconds after being pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Cline, excited to start our lives as husband and wife. It seemed appropriate to make a post about my favorite moments captured on that special day!

The most important part of the wedding for me was the details. With out remembering details a wedding is just a wedding. There were a few running themes in the wedding. There were lovebirds on all the tables, napkins, and the cake, antique items were dispersed through out, and yellow and grey were the wedding colors. I call it a modern wedding with vintage accents. I included a lot of sentiment into the details so they’re also some of my favorite pictures. {All pictures are by Ashley Fretto Photography and flowers were by Joe’s Florist. The venue and cake was The Gingerbread House.}

~ACCESSORIES~

{My something blue was an antique pin that I fastened to my garter. I also purchased a garter set that resembled antique lace. My something old was an antique handkerchief that had gray embroidered to match the theme of the wedding.}
I couldn't find a ring pillow that I liked so it ended up a DIY project. I purchased a plain white pillow and attached pearls and a ribbon with a glue gun. I then finished it by placing hand cut petals out of grey toole in the center to make a flower. I sewed a ribbon into the center to hold our rings.

I wanted a statement pearl necklace but also wanted to incorporate grey or yellow into it. After going a million places, I found this set at a local boutique for half off!

~THE DRESS & VEIL~

I had no idea that I would want a fit and flare dress until I saw the Ariel one by Alfred Angelo. I loved everything about it but the tightness of the bottom. After I looked through a bunch of AA dresses I found this one {2083} and fell in love with it. I had it altered to include a sweetheart neckline and a bustle and also added crinoline underneath to make it more poofy.

{My veil was another detail that I absolutely loved. It was a scalloped one layer veil with pearls accenting each scallop.}

~THE WEDDING PARTY~

{The right side of the wedding party. The guys wore a tux by Calvin Klein in the color slate and a saffron tie. I think Hayden was scared of the candles.}
bridesmaids
{The left side of the wedding party. The girls wore Alfred Angelo dresses in the style 7138 and the color charcoal. The maid of honor wore the same dress in black.}
The bridesmaids wore an Alfred Angelo dress in style 7138 and pearl earrings and bracelets. Their nails were also painted yellow to match the flowers and shoes.

~FLOWERS~

{My flowers were yellow and white roses with yellow statice and craspedia tied together with gold wire. It was important to me to have something special in my bouquet. On one side of the bouquet I had my Grandmother’s antique pin. It was also my something old.}

{On the other side I had the florist place a large succulent in memory of my Mawmaw from her garden. I also used her succulents in the boutonnieres and the maid of honor’s bouquet. }

{The men’s boutonnieres consisted of craspedia and yellow statice. The groomsmen also had a succulent tied in with theirs. Isn’t my baby handsome in his tux? My other ring bearer didn’t have one because he would have eaten it.}

{We had assorted wildflowers including sunflowers tied to either side of the alter. After the wedding the alter was where we had our sweetheart table. The center pieces were white hydrangeas with yellow roses tucked in.}

~A PRIVATE MOMENT TOGETHER~

In lieu of a cocktail hour we decided to take the majority of the pictures before the wedding. It was a personal decision and while a lot of people are still doing it the traditional way we decided it would be best to have a private moment to see each other. That way we, along with our wedding party, wouldn’t have to rush to pose for 1100 pictures and miss out on a large part of of our reception. Many people would say that it takes the excitement out of seeing each other while you are walking down the aisle but it really just makes even more special because you got to see his real reaction, not the one he would have given in front of all the guests.

Our first look! I didn't think that I would be nervous but having a special moment before our wedding, wearing a wedding dress and seeing his tux changed everything!
